Mic'ed up the ol' JSX again today......

Still not feeling how its coming out. I have to do sooo much post eq to even get it relatively useable which shouldnt happen at all. Been messing around with mic placement today. Anyways tell me what you guys think or would do to maybe fix things. Also I still using this shitty sennheiser mic. All I can say about that is fuck being broke, but do with what you can I guess.

Sounds ACE, but all the "heavy" comes from the kick and the great bass sound, guitars are kinda meh.

my monitors just dont seem to show bass very well bc I hear the guitars really loud. I am capable of getting a ten times clearer tone from my pod , it just doesnt sound as big to me. Actually I posted an example of the pod tone too just now as a comparison.

Went and bought a 57 today and did a second test. I feel like its definantly better, but still has some woofyness to it.

Haha, yeah, I've had it for long enough and tried it through enough cabs where I realize it's just really not the amp for me - 12 watchers on my ebay listing, no activity!

I run my JSX thru a XXX cab and really like it. I use a shure 57 on the cab and also use a room mic or mics at times. I use a high pass filter and set it to get rid of anything below 75 to 100hz, depending on the tune. I also have a 5150 cab, but I like the XXX better. You didnt mention what cabinet your using ? Since you have another mic now, try using the first mic as a room mic.
