I live in a apartment and since I have PODfarm I have just been sticking with that. But I LOVE my tone that I get outta my Line 6 Spider Valve 212, and I'd love to mic up the thing. Is there a way I can mic it at a certain volume so I can get a clean recording of it without pissing off my neighbors? I can turn it up pretty loud since my neighbors are sorta use to it and are pretty chill, but I've always heard that you have to crank the thing to get a good recording out of it.

first id like to tell you that if the room is bigger you will have to crank it much more than if the room is small. when you are playing with band you have to crank it loud to get with others but when you are playing at home the tone is good at very low level and for the placement for the mic look at the clip and choose what do YOU want fot the best [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmcTocCJSVw&feature=related[/ame]

Awesome video, thanks a lot! I have a small walk-in closet I use as a little vocal booth, should I try micing it in there?

And also, could I plug the preamp output of my amp into my Mbox then use impulses?

yes you can and try micing in every room so hear where is the best and do it always there and if your room is full with stufss it will sound much better than micing in empty room
