I've been playing with mid side compression a lot lately. The Slate VBC mid side on the FG Mu is very interesting, there are a ton of others as well. Even without any compression just using is as volume control for the mid and sides. I was hoping someone a little more seasoned with mid side could talk about the benefits / downfalls to using it on guitar busses, drum overheads, room mics, etc. Thanks \m/\m/

I'm a big fan of MS EQ and compression. I'm not sure I'd have more advice than keep doing what sounds good with it though. It can be great for overheads, in terms of taming/controlling things in the centre but leaving the sides. With guitars it can be nice to make space for things with EQ in the centre and have things wider on the sides. On the mix it can be nice for lots of things.......
