For me it's Sounds of Decay, from Katatonia. I don't know why For Funerals to Come is listed since he didn't appear on that cd but on the Sounds of Decay. Maybe u confused the two cds.

BWP and Damnation are also on my fav top.
But this isn't my final decision, since I still didn't heard morning rise or orchid. In a near future...

My Arms Your Hearse. His growl isn't at its best, perhaps, but the way they're done...Just heavenly. Best clean-vocals are on MAYH for me, definitely.

Well still my favourite transition from heavy to clean, from glass gargle to clean minty freshness is Bleak. I just dig the melody in the clean parts.
Then again my favourite song they have ever done is Deliverance. I just love that guitar sound and riffing style.
And then again Wreath is one of the songs that just does not work for me.
With Opeth like many complex bands always make a best album poll a major problem. And can we come up with a ban on those posts and say maybe have a best compilation/greatest hits (lol) for a change-which has been done anyway. But hey enuff with the greatest album stuff. If BRI had been on Orchid as was at a stage probable I wonder how Morningrise would rate.

"Another sky is young..."

Crimson! It, IMO, has his best death grolws, and has some pretty good clean vox when it pops up.

Morningrise and Orchid, by quite a margin.

Why? Remember, "Darkness encloses. And the candles seem to EXPIRE!!!?" Or, "Standing silent smiling at my presence. A black candle holds the only light?" By far, the most PHENOMENAL piece of "evil" vocals I have ever, EVER heard. The hair on my back stands tall whenever I hear such sheer magnificence.

But, I still went with Morningrise overall, for it had a more mix between clean and "evil." To Bid You Farewell is too fantastic as is BRI (for the growling.)

As far as JUST clean vocals are concerned, I would go with Damnation or BWP.

I Love You.

can't believe i'm the only one who actually 'voted' for Orchid though.

Yeah, no doubt Chaveta. I mean, I'm pretty shocked that Morningrise even only has 2 votes going for it (myself and someone else's vote). It sucks....truly, it sucks.

his voice gets better on every album. his singing is the best ever on damnation, but his voice fucking rips on deliverance. i know that they used some more effects but his death growl is at its best right now. by the pain i see in others in his most evil sounding performance i have ever heard.

I voted for Still Life because it has his most comprehensible, well-rounded vocal performance. They are not necessarily the most powerful though, compared to the other albums.

Definatly Bloodbath, His Vox In Those Albums Rock, They Are Low And Evil But Yet You Still Can Understand Them!!!! I Do Love The Way He Can Go From Growling To Singing In A Instance, Hands Up To Mikeal

That's one hell of a good point you got there Alcapoth. I almost got goosebumps reading your description. I do love those vox in Orchid and Morningrise.

But my vote still goes to MAYH. I loved the harshness of the death vox and the shyness in the clean vox then. Wasn't he recovering from a cold when they recorded this album? I think so. Made them really ggggggrowly. :heh:
