mikael's top 10

7" usually refers to a particular of LP (ie: 7 inches). So one would assume the Mike has a liking for a band or album called 'paatos' only available on a 7" LP........ Or then again I could be COMPLETELY of my nut and just jibbering on about nuthin'........

Hahahahah. My respect for Mike's powerful growling ends now! He has obviouslyh destroyed his throat with cigarettes, and thus his growling requires no skill. I don't smoke, but I can still growl very raspy voice. He obviously can't channel the essence of satan, and has to CHEAT

A 7" is not an LP. An LP is a full album (long play), usually consisting of around 40 minuttes of music. A 7" is usually a single, with a track on each side (aprox. 6-10 minuttes combined) and plays 45 rotations per minutte (an LP plays at 33 rpm). A 7" can also be an EP as Phyre points out. These EP's usually have 2 songs on each side. Nowadays EP's on 7" sometimes have 3 tracks. As far as I know the original EP format was the 10" record, but I don't think it has been used as such for many, many years. The 10"'es I have from the 60's have around 10-12 songs on 'em I think. All these things I've mentioned refers to the "normal" interpretation of the formats. This means the way they were used before cd's and crap like that took over. The 12" format has also been used for maxi-singles since the 70's.
By the way, I thought it would be Mikael's top 10 of records or songs. IMO "Taxi driver" is only a mediocre movie. I think De Niro has made much better movies. "Casino" is my favorite featuring him and "Awakenings" comes in second.

ark - burn the sun... curious... i bought the terrorizer magazine with the opeth interview, mike spoke about them, then i checked out my discography, and now i'm listening to that album more than everything else. yes, a great album, needless to say.
