False. Listen to some non-metal drummers with names like Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, or Dennis Chambers to name a few and you will see what I'm talking about.
Oh, and Portnoy also mentioned that he liked rap in an interview (or was it a bio?) I read once.

I do not like Dream Theater. They are far overrated. Thier music has emotion...yes, it is very technical but lacks feeling. You can listen to a band like Symphony X, who are very talented, and feel tons of emotion in their music. Evergrey, now Evergrey is the perfect band. Listen to Evergrey. Pure dark emotion.

Oh yeah, I'm guessing the solos in "Learning to Live" aren't emotional at all, and that Symphony X's songs about mythology have way more emotion than anything Dream Theater ever did.

on the Metropolis 2000 DVD, if you watch the "behind the scenes
documentary" they film a guy with a morningrise t-shirt buying a
ticket or something. i think this is after 15 minutes on the
documentary. the opeth guy is in picture for
several seconds (!). then It must be thanks to portnoy.
...wonder if the guy is someone oon this forum.. it would be kinda cool..
