I just heard a few ministry songs awhile back, does anyone here like them. I dont know what to think of them. I listen to there first two albums from 1983 and 86 and just laughed, sounded like depeche mode. Then I listened to a live album and it was ok i guess.

Their first two albums are *nothing* like their other stuff just incase you hadn't figured that out yet.

Good albums to start with if you actually still want to give them a chance are The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste, The Land Of Rape And Honey, or Psalm 69. If the live album you listened to was Incase You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up then you've already heard a few tracks from the first two I mentioned there. I personally like all their albums except for Darkside Of The Spoon which is a little weak.

Like Nine Inch Nails but somehow takes gay to whole new levels.
And they are like NIN how exactly? They sound nothing alike whatsoever which you would know if you'd actually listened to either band ever. Your opinions are generally retarded though, so this was to be expected I guess.

I've listened to 2 NIN cds (The Downward Spiral and The Fragile) and Ministry's The Land of Rape and Honey, nothing but shitty pseudo-industrial pop.

I don't know about ministry, but I heard a song or two, and they sound nothing like NIN. Anyways, NIN is a great band, even if you don't "get it". For anyone intrested in them, the good ones are the fragile and the downward spiral. Just take a few extra listens and consider what they are doing besides pop melodies, pay attention to the important stuff like the story line (yes, it is a concept album), the experimental guitarism (played by adrian belew, who is from king crimson and the talking heads), and the electronicaish layering used throughout.

EDIT: sorry this was off topic. It is just one of my pet peeves when people diss a band without really listening to them.

Listen to Godflesh (and Jesu).

I listen to most of Psalm 69 and A Mind is a Terrible thing to taste and I probably will never listen to it agian, Im not a big fan of Industrial, I hate drum machines and all those samples.

they're ok. the only album i ever find myself listening to is Psalm 69.

i'm not that into industrial, but there are better bands out there.

jesus built my car - it's a love affair

Psalm 69 ist cool stuff, especially the video to "N.W.O.", but the last album got also cool moments The "Carmina Burana" sample in No W is really good fitting....

Godflesh 'Selfless' sounds like someone getting closely chased in the night or something . It caused me a great deal of paranoia when I heard it.
