Anssi (AHJteam on this forum) just started his studies at McNallySmitch College in st. paul.
He should have PT and should also have the possibility to use the college's studio (not a few days per week though).
Yup, I'm here at downtown St Paul and always up for experience. And to clarify, even tho I'm at college, I'm 26 and I'm here as an exchange student and taking the more advanced third and fourth semester classes like "how to operate the SSL console" type of deals. I'm here only till Dec 17 and then I'm going back to Finland.
who is in the Minneapolis, MN area and has at least PTLE 7 or 8, an amp modeler, some basic drum software, and the ability to take a few days off during the week?
I have MBP and Profire 610, PT M-Powered 8 and Cubase 5, Podfarm and SSD EX. I am a lot faster on drum programming with Cubase, which I also have. for example I do most of
my stuff with it and did the majority of the
DIO tribute Holy Diver drumprogramming (Mago finetuned them), the yet unreleased Clipping Death - Enter Soundman drums for Dan and Times of Grace
Strength in Numbers drumcover, all in a few hours including the deciphering the playing. I know, it's not rocket science, but still.
BUT I have pretty limited amount of stuff (like only SM7b and few cables and no mic stands, monitor speakers or keyboards) and literally have no place to track as I live at the dorms etc, but if you have a place, the set is really portable. I also have access to the school studios with PTHD and SSL Duality consoles etc, but they are very limited in use timewise (like 4 hours per person or so and they are pretty booked usually) and can't be used for commercial releases, but if it's just for pre-prod, I have to ask from the studio manager.
My tuesdays are literally free from noon forward, thursday from 4pm and friday from 2pm + whole weekend. mondays and wednesdays are a bit longer, but still doable.
If you are still interested, my AIM, MSN and Skype adresses are there on the left, but my AIM adress is missing an "i" at the end because the field was too short. It's same as my email adress, atenhunen [a] kolumbus [dot] fi
