Im helping my friends record their first demo. Its their first band they've ever been in. They had some shit recorded, but it was godawful, so I offered to help em out. The original version they had was recorded direct with like a Zoom pedal or some shit with terrible MIDI sounding drums. This is still a work in progress, I have to get the guitarist down here to do some of his little lead parts and licks, and the drummer so I can program the fills he uses, and of course vocals....but this is a template for the rhythm parts. What do you think?

dropbox...?

/* edit */ anyway, i was hoping for the shittiest sound from what you said... but damn man it sounds really nice! i'm on shitty headphones right now but as far as i can tell it sounds great! very full and loud, what's the bass chain?

Thanks man! The bass is pretty much just a DI going thru my PODxt for a volume boost with no amp model selected, with a bit of EQ. The actual bass was just a cheapo LTD B-50 bass.

sounds pretty good. not really a fan of the drum lines, but the production is better than what i expected. what is the setup you use for everything?

Thanks man, yeah the drummer isnt that great, he's only been playing a year or so. All the guitars are PODxt using the Big Bottom model, and the drums are just random samples I've collected off here and other sites, programmed in Fruity Loops.

Born snare?

Drum lines wouldn't be so bad if he didn't hit that right crash at the start of EVERY SECOND BAR HOLY SHIT.

Other than that, not bad, guitars sound decent but too soft.

I know what you mean lmao...Hes a fresh drummer and his kit is very minimal...all he has is like two crashes, a ride, and a hi hat =\

What do you mean by too soft? Not loud enough? Need more presence?

the part at the end the crash sounds like its pumping really bad, and imo the hats are a little to closed.. guitars sound pretty good but i think more pressence could help them.
