Hey everybody

I am new in all this recoding stuff, but I'm wondering what the advantage is, if any, by using a mixer board before your interface?

I am a Pro Tools user and use the digirack 002.

Generally, that's not a very useful idea. If you're using a mixing board to take advantage of the Line Ins (5-8) and you have no preamps, go for it. If it's a really awesome sounding analog board, go for that too.

You don't need one but I totally disagree that it's a "bad investment." The advantage on the way in are pres, eq's, analog inserts and auxes that can be used to create completely latency free headphone mixes.
