I'm just finishing up the mixing on my band Feareds demo and need second opinions on sound. Especially on the sub-bas front since I don't have sufficient equipment to mix in the area of 10-50hz. I also need to check for limiter clipping since I've pushed the mixes pretty much.

Any tips or pointers how I can improve the mix are really appreciated.

The songs are:

1. Fall of man

2. Godlike

3. Antisocial

Guitars sound awesome, what did you use for them? If it's revalver you gotta share them settings!!

I don't really hear anything wrong with the mix, great job! :)

Sounds brutal!
Some de-esser on the vocals (there are some "shs" popping out in the beginning) would be nice and a little smoother hi-end.
But I think it's pretty awesome.

Thanks guys, I'll try out some deesser on the vocals for sure when I get home.
About the guitars, the first and the second song is a ENGL 530 with guitarrig speaker simulator. The second song is my savage through a V30.

Maruizio: No Subcyde is just on a hold at the moment. Currently I'm paying a lot more attention to Feared.

The song called godlike has really really good guitars. You didn't happen to record an impulse of the cab? :heh:

Hey man,

Fall of man: The first thing that stuck out at me is the bass guitar sound. There isn't much definition in the bass notes, so you can kind of tell there's a rumble there, but it doesn't sound controlled and defined enough. I'd scoop some of those low mids out of the bass guitar. You can hear this irritating 'bwooahh' sound from it constantly. It isn't far off, but definitely needs some more control and definition IMO. The problems are likely in the low mids and the higher-bass area. Perhaps some longer attack times with the compression and faster releases. I can't be sure, but I think there is a little tweaking to be done there.

I personally don't like the E530 compared to the savage. Sounds a bit flat, like you'd expect an amp sim to. Leaves the tone lacking detail and 'hi-fi-ness' .

Godlike: Much better sounding already. The better guitar tone has cleared the mix up a lot. It breathes a lot more and the bass doesn't sound lackluster as a result. I would still maybe check out the low-mid/midrange of the bass and see if there's any cutting that can be doen.

Regarding the sub bass information. I think the subs are fine.
