If this has been asked before I apologize. I did do many searches and I think the answer to my question is no but I thought I'd check here to see if you guys had any options.

Basically I'm curious if there's any way to write/edit midi drum tracks and then import them into pro tools? I know there's Garage band for Iphone and Ipad but from what I understand is that you can't import midi files from Garage Band into Pro tools. Am I wrong about this?

I'm using a Mac Pro with Pro tools 8 right now and I have an iphone 3gs. (i know i need to upgrade) I was thinking it would be cool to be able to edit and write drums while I'm commuting since its basically dead time everyday.

Would an Ipad be something to consider or would I have to get a whole macbook rig in order to accomplish this?

I wish toontrack would make a mobile app for midi. That would probably solve my problem. I don't know if its worth it to buy a whole new rig for this purpose.

Thanks guys.
