Monotheist reminds me of Jesu

hmm ... can you post some Jesu for comparison compadre?

this CF has some ok tracks ... i am oddly drawn to revisiting it a lot lately.
 
I'm not sure where you're hearing the similarities. I don't like this song at all, either. Monotheist is racking up handfuls of glowing reviews, but I still don't get it. I gave it a 3/6.

I know a lot of people are slagging this album expecting to mega therion or morbid tales 2

no 2 cf albums were the same in the past....why should they start repeating themselves now?

are ther any fast songs on this?
if yes, do you fancy uploading one?
 
I ordered Jesu - s/t because I like that track Silver from the new EP (only thing I've heard). Was that a good thing to do?

Hmm, I’m just not hearing it, to be honest. Unhinged’s Danzig comparison makes some sense to me though. Monotheist isn’t a piece of shit, but I don’t hear anything close to a great album. It’s frustrating, because I think at one point Ain and Warrior had the makings of an awesome album. But the whole thing seems way overthought and I find most of it to be fairly dull. It sounds like an album they worked on for five years. Hints of the old Frost magic show up in most songs, but never really get off the ground. I’m also not a fan of the conventional and mundane use of female vocals. The thing is–this release should be RIGHT up my alley. I’m an old fan, recognize and appreciate that the band does different things with each release, and I abhor elitist dickhead attitudes that only praise early and/or underground work. I’m as open as it gets to an album like this. I will admit that I had very low expectations for this one though, based on the passage of time and the bad post-Pandemonium material, but still, I would have loved to have been proven wrong. I’ve listened to this probably two dozen times, and I don’t see me returning to it in coming months, and I’ll probably never have anything other than a beep-riddled promo. But I’ll get it out at some point and I’d love to eventually hear the great album that many claim to. I’d much rather admit my opinion changed and have another Celtic Frost album I love. I’m glad others are enjoying it.
 
its growing on me a bit ... but not as a CF disc ... just something different.

even then, it is their best since ITP ... but that is not saying much
