I get the feeling that this was a test the waters type minitour, so far with the exception of the Sudbury show apparently it's been pretty good for them, so I assume the next time they'll come out and do more dates perhaps?

as for a timeframe, I wouldn't assume anytime soon, next time will be more grandiose though. lol they joked about coming back for 2 weeks next year, but who knows. we're only in January I could see them coming back this year, all up to them.

I dunno Moonsorrow or you know that kind of metal is pretty regional, I mean there's only a few cities in Ontario where that would go over. Toronto is varied enough that it works, but if you look at the "personalities"(I havn't slept yet since last night so my wording is deffinately off) of cities in Ontario there aren't too many where THAT type of metal would go over.

I'm suprised Sudbury didn't do as well, I actually figured there would be quite the response up there as yeah just seemed like their kind of crowd.

I'm interested to hear Moonsorrow's impression of how the whole tour went as it's looking like the only option for the next time would be Canada wide perhaps... seems like it would be most effective.

By "personalities" I mean London being a more hardcore town, same with St. Catharines, Hamilton is the steel city, more hardcore and death metal type stuff tends to go over. Oshawa is more death metal/grind nothing remotely close to Moonsorrow there... that kind of thing, every city in Ontario has a persona, expect Toronto cause yeah it's everything at once.

yeah that's what i always thought. and not just far off, it just seems so random. i guess cause they don't normally get big metal shows (or popular underground metal bands)

and Insomniainc your personalities description made complete sense. i've always been under impressions like that. i never realy thought where sudbury would fit in it. i guess it just, hey, they have a shit load of snow, they MUST love Moonsorrow!

Someone on the braveboard said there were only 7 people there? I don't know how accurate that is but it seems the turn out was pretty dismal. I actually thought the turn out would have been half decent. Up North a lot of the metal kids are starving for some big named metal acts. I guess its hit and miss up there like most places. Theres also a lot of other factors like how well was it promoted? Was the bill a solid bill that would draw the crowds out?

Although if i were to analyse the situation I would have suggested to Moonsorrow to come over Thursday and then play there first 3 shows or end there last 3 shows Fri/Sat/Sun. All their shows on this mini tour were during the week. I am not sure why someone didn't suggest this to them? Weekend shows are always more popular for obvious reasons. Also Moonsorrow has never played Canada before and it takes a good couple of tours to establish a solid fan base. I am sure they took a pretty heavy hit financially this mini tour, considering there merch didnt even arrive in time for sale at the Toronto show and the only item they had for sale was the new cd at $25 dollars which is really steep.

Well thats good to hear there flights were paid and that you think they probably did alright. Your last line is too true! Do you know if there merch arrived in time to sell at the other shows?

Yeah I am still baffeled at the Sudbury turn out if thats true? From what I have heard metal concerts usually always do half decent up there. Very strange.
