Hi,
same band as my previous post - couldn't use wagner on this because the other guitarist had a picking technique where the pick is 90degrees to the strings and wagner emphasized the horrible stratchy frequencies that came from the picking:erk:
Bass is more under control on this track:

any feedback greatly appreciated:kickass:

thanks Deadstar! -- i Agree the snare is lost sometimes.
The band is called Basement Torture Killings: the guitar is bc rich warlock with dimarzio Dsonic pup into amplitube with GH impulse (Between0 i think), roll off @50 and 12k with a boost @ 1.5k and cut @ 4.8K.
Bass a cheapo chinese thing DI'd with active pups the processed with Horizon plugins.
Drums: EZ drummer multi-outed and parallel compressed.
Vox: both vocalist used sm57 then compressed like hell.
Tube saturation and urs compression on the master bus followed by Ozone for final limiting & loudness.

cheers:kickass:

thanks Unavailable! ...whatever i do i always dial in dark guitars....its like my ears naturally default to the dark sound and i just keep kidding myself that the guitar have enough bite and are bright enough! I will keep this in mind when mixing next and will try to work with with an "uncomfortably bright" tone.
On this track if i roll back the 4.8K cut on the gtrs i just keep hearing the scratchy pick sound- i hate it...
& at least i know the problem of the snare disappearing; thats where i pulled the velocity down too low on the original midi = a learn for the next session

Coolio!!
