More Simulation advice needed... Sansamp PSA-1

I've been reading elsewhere that the PSA-1 has a much better metal tone than the POD's.
Can anybody with experience with the PSA-1 give their impression of its sound for direct recording? How does it compare with GuitarSuite?

Specifically I am after a Machine Head tone.

It's not very good for direct recording. GuitarSuite sounds more realistic. The problem is that it doesn't have any switchable cab simulation. It's always on and sounds pretty harsh. Great preamp for really tight rhythm sounds but you need a power amp and a cab to get the sound. The basic sound is more Fear Factory than Machine Head.

I say go for PODxt.

PSa-1 will not sound better. The direct-recording sound is not usable for recording. XT is better for recording.
