Just bought a Sansamp PSA-1 off craigslist for $150 US. I don't know anything about it other than it is worth way more than $150 and thats why I bought it. Haven't had a chance to hook it up yet. Anybody have any experience with this contraption? Will I get superior bass tones to my BDDI out of it?

IMO the BDDI is a badass pre. The PSA-1 should get you similar results from the clips I have heard. I would like to have bother a PSA-1 and a BDDI, I think having both you will have your bases set in terms of a pallet of tones.

It's totally different from the BDDI - The PSA-1 was designed as a guitar preamp and will give you many more tonal options than the BDDI. You can get similar tones to the BDDI with it, but not the same. That said, the BDDI does its thing really well and you may prefer it to the PSA-1 (as I do for bass).

You should just compare the two and keep your favorite.

man the PSA is absolutely amazing!both for guitar and bass indeed.
the only weird thing are the knobs.
i prefer to have more straight to the point like"bass,hi mid,low mid,presence"etc instead of"buzz,crunch" etc.but it's amazing
