Ulver and Arcturus are from Norway, and i would tag Perdition City simply as Electronic music instead of post-rock. Great bands anyway.

Comus - first utterance, i know its popular with alot of guys round here, but honestly this album is unparalled and gets the credit it deserves.

Secret Chiefs is doing stuff that, as long as the dude is being serious when he talks about it, way farther out than most of this other far-out stuff. He's talked about reading ancient mysticism scripts to find strange geometries and patterns he uses to build melodies.

Most of their stuff ends up sounding relatively normal, aside from the obvious freak-outs, but behind much of it is an extreme experimental mindset.

I'd consider DsO - Kénôse incredibly artistic and pretty experimental in it's own creepy right.

No one mentioned Ulver's Shadows of the Sun? I find it even more artistic than Perdition City.
Also Dead Can Dance are very artistic in a similar way
