Most overated band / album?

Noone really cares about your "accomplishments;" accusing people of being nerdy because of their postcount is ridiculous, and my previous attack was in good fun. also, pointing out my large postcount and admitting to writing for an online website is very hypocritical.

i would also like to say that being part of a high school basketball team is nothing special - we've all been in school sports, especially in high school, and it definately doesnt award you any respect (which everyone saves for REAL sports). I also dont think sports are "gay" (although it seems you have something against the gay community, otherwise you wouldnt think it an insult).

No, I find some people use "gay" as an insult (especially metal fans in regards to hip-hop and pop music among other things) and thought perhaps you were one of those people. I guess I was wrong, sorry for that. I went to a high school 1000 kids, to be one of the few kids selected to the varsity level is an accomplishment to me. Played baseball, I can throw an 88 mph fastball, pitched for 4 years. I played a little in college as well, but I guess those things means nothing unless I'm a pro, right?

Writing for an online site is not like posting on a messageboard, I write a few thousand word articles on a somewhat regular basis and they are sometimes posted. It's nothing like posting a few sentences on a messageboard.

The three years of playing power forward/center on my high school basketball team, or the fact that I write for a few NBA draft websites would really make that comment invalid.

This thread is about overrated bands and albums.

Yes, Hip-hop and pop music, is quite the gay. oh, and among other things is quite non-heterosexual as well.

I'm going to get slayed for this by some, I'm sure. But within the context of Opeth, I believe Blackwater Park is their most overated album, purely due to the fact they have so many other better albums.

thats odd - i hear "gay" and "faggot" used all the time in hip hop/pop music, and id say that the fans are more bigoted than any other genres fanbase.

Sorry for bumping and old thread, but I was gone for a bit.

Yeah, hip hop and pop music has some terrible artists and fans (as does every genre) it really ruins some very entertaining music. I enjoy listening to rap and such, but I'd never go to a concert or buy a lot of CDs.. I save that for artists that need the support.

Peace out

if you want to put in extra support to an artist, buy him a drink and some food after the show.
i wouldnt mind touring the world and getting free food/drinks as well as royalties from shows/cds. ;)

Sounds good to me

You know if a band released an album with very bad lyrics, very juvenile, intense, hostile, volatile and very angst filled with like 3 different guitar riffs and whining vocals.. I bet it would sell 10,000,000 copies.. They wouldn't need any free stuff after shows. Hell, alot of nu metal bands have done it
