I listened to the clip of "worth defending" and bought the cd. Also, good call Prime, Janis Joplin is exactly what I thought too.

Yeah, you are right. Like a less-death-metal Janis Joplin. Pearl has a nicer voice in my honest opinion.
Janis Joplin annoys me, yet I could listen to Barney Greenway*, Bret Hoffman*, Kyle Symons*, etc. all day.
So basically, Pearl sounds like a non-annoying Janis Joplin to me.
