Mt. Gildenlow set to erupt?

Thank you. I agree 100%. It's just absolute paranoia imo, and completely unneccessary.
If you want to remain anonymous and out of "Big Brother's" eye, don't get a credit card or driver's license or apply for a mortgage. Don't use the internet or file your taxes online. And if you're sending a kid to college, get your own financing. Has anyone else had to fill out the CSS profile and FASFA? You'll have no secrets then.

I had my fingerprints taken back in '84 (security clearance, not criminal). It ain't no big deal.

Seriously. It's already to the point where we can all be tracked just by taking care of daily needs. I agree that this will most likely result in nothing more than more airport headaches and delays.

That sure will limit touring possibilities for those opposed.

I truly do not care except for the added time it would take. If there was a fast way to do it or some advance form of recording your prints, it'd be no big deal at all as far as I'm concerned. It's any further travel delays that would irk me.

Agreed. If they're using ink and rollers and 18th-century stuff like that, it will be lame. If they have some way of scanning the fingerprints, cataloguing them and matching against a database, then that would be neet, and wouldn't bother me at all.

Same here. I know they're on file from when I was hired at my gummint job. It's no big deal, and as Michael observed, I could see possibilities where a positive fingerprint ID when you've lost other identiification could save hassles...and maybe lives, too.

I had my fingerprints taken when I applied for an insurance license. The point for me isn't whether the gov't has my prints, it's whether taking this measure will actually improve security. I happen to think that most of our security measures do nothing but gum up the works and cost more money without actually doing much to keep me from getting blown up (ever been through Hartsfield, folks?). That said, I don't have much choice but to fly sometimes (and in Sweden no less), so it would take quite a lot to make me actually boycott flying, even just to Sweden. But I reserve my right to roll my eyes and go, oh, lord, what NOW? each time something new is introduced. :P

Zod doesn't like music that makes him anything other than in a mood to punch somebody's face in.
LOL. Actually the opposite is true. I don't like PoS' music because it makes me want to punch Daniel in the face. Actually, it really just makes me want to buy him some Midol, to help with all that nasty cramping he's apparently dealing with when he sings.

Zod

I guarantee I'll never, EVER, bother traveling abroad, simply because of all this paranoia these governments are creating.

I have a feeling, that the terrorists won. They've screwed us all, by making it more and more difficult to live a simple life and to enjoy it as well.

LOL. Dub's been docile lately. Must be a fluke or he's just waiting for the right time to strike.
Like a viper in the grass...

Both.....My dad's been quite ill, and is having his leg amputated below the knee as I type this. Just got to work coming from the hospital to see him before surgery. Trust me though, the way things are going, I may not even make it to Atlanta this year, it's too early to call, and Glenn still got my money, but life is going to be more difficult for my entire family, especially my dad, this year.

But back on topic, Zod, would that be a saucer sized Midol, or a dinner plate sized Midol? I'll bet the massive midol in this case... We can also send him a case of stool softener...

Damn Jdub sorry to hear that.

I think if that happened to me, all I'd want to do is come home to family, a pirate's hat, a parrot, and glass of grog. I hope he doesn't let that get him down. I'm guessing Diabetes? Hope things work out better for him.

Doesn't bother me any. The "gubbement" has my fingerprints already because I hold a clearance. So they can take my damn fingerprints if they want. No big shakes. It's all part of my job. We get used to it where we work.

Thanks dude!
Circulatory issues, of which diabetes plays a very minor role in his case.
This is his 6th major surgery in a little over a year...

We've disagreed on PoS pretty often, J-Dub, but here's hoping for a speedy and safe recovery for your dad, and that you can attend PPUSA in the fall!

(Sharp-eyed observers might note that we haven't disagreed over PoS as much lately.......)

Thanks Paul! It's going to be a long road for him, rehab-wise, not to mention making his house more friendly for someone disabled. I/we got a LOT of work to do, but I wouldn't wish what he's gone through in the last year on ANYONE, even Daniel! ;)

Sorry to hear that... I still haven't quite gotten over the sudden death of my father about 2 1/2 years ago. I hope your father gets through his issues as best as he can under the circumstances.

That sucks J-Dub. :(

As for the topic, well, yeah, the gov't has my prints already. That whole "licensed to carry a deadly weapon in a concealed spot" thing kinda required it. But doesn't bug me. The gov't can watch me all it wants, they'll just get bored (because my daily habits really are THAT boring).
