Just got back from a trip to Mt. Shuksan. Unfortunately I did not make it to the summit due to fatigue and lack of sleep, but 3 out of our group of 5 did get up there. Myself and one other stayed at camp on the Sulphide glacier at 6,500' and called it good from there. Some pics:
Camp #1 on Shannon Ridge
Looking back as we head up. Baker Lake and Shannon Lake
Getting into the clouds now
Trudging along with perfect strangers. The route was crowded this weekend.
Made it to the col. Camp #2
Seracs on the Sulphide Glacier. This shit sounds like an earthquake when chunks break off and fall down to the mountain.
One party decided to pack up and continue up the glacier towards the summit when we arrived.
Killing time around camp
Baker River valley below, Mt. Blum peeking through the clouds at right.
More seracs.
