My Amplitube Metal Vs Revalver Comparison...

it seems like FFY1 is Amplitube and FFY2 is Revalver, both tones are quite similar, the difference were in the mid range.

2 has more realistic mid range to my ears. 1 sound a bit card board and harsh at mid range to my ears

EDIT:
I thought the better sound one was Revalver but I messed up the number 1 and 2
still the same, I thought 2 sound more realistic to me.
I have used Amplitube for years since Amplitube to Amplitube 2, it has that thin and harsh sounding mids in your clip 1.

thanks for listening! I've been told in the past about the "harshness" I truly think its my setup, because it's not translating so good to others. I might need to do some eq'ing, or possibly toss in some saturation!! I'll see if anybody else posts, and let u know if your right or not!

I wish you'd use the same impulse with both preamps. That'd be more competitive

Cool, #2 is Revalver, and no.1 is Amplitube. Im impressed your guys can pick out the "realism" in the mix. Im finding Amplitube is easier to fit into the mix, as it is easier tweaked, whilest revalver can sound better, but you really have to tweak to get it to sit right, and even then, my results are far from what others on the board have been able to achieve.

Im still debating on what I will use as my ace in the hole. Im hoping IK hopes on the Impulse bandwagon for the next Amplitube release, as well as Native Instruments, I ALWAYS liked the Guitar Rig interface!

I agreed Amplitube is easier to tweak with and sound not so bad, that's why I keep using it over years, after I tried Revavler III trial it sound very cool on amp sim, I can't really tell the difference between Revalver III and the real deal, especially on 5150ish sound

In the department of guitar effect sim, I think amplitube wins a mile to Revalver, Revalver has EXCELLENT amp sim but the effects in the bundle are just average, I think.

if I have more money to spend later, I might get myself a copy of Revalver III for high gain works.

BTW, Guitar Rig probably the worst amp/effect sim for high gain/metal works I ever tried. You just cannot dial a proper Metal music tone within it : (, maybe it's just me .

You could bypass the cab in amplitube and put a Voxengo Boogex as a second insert next to Amplitude, so you can choose any Impulse, and there you go:)

Alright guys, I just replaced FightForYou2 (the revalver version, with it redone with AMPLITUBE ON, with Altiverb6 ,and Guitar Hacks Impulse)

I think it sounds pretty good, the lead tones are impressive to my ears!!!! anyone notice a nice difference between the two now?!?
