My Dying Bride's vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe and Nevermore frontman Warrel
Dane have unexpectedly announced that they will switch positions during
the upcoming live shows of both bands.

"We have been admirers of each other's music for a long time. It felt like
a very natural thing to do. While Nevermore and My Dying Bride are very
different bands, there are big overlaps in themes, and also in the
audience: there are many fans of Nevermore that also like MDB, and vice
versa", comments Warrell.

Aaron adds: "For me, this is like a dream come true. Everybody knows I
hate standing on stage, but with a band like this backing me up, it's
going to be an entirely new experience for me, and one I'm looking forward
to."

"I've been frontman of My Dying Bride for 14 years, putting myself through
the wringer on stage, and frankly, I need this change of pace. Literally.
There's so much energy in their music, I look forward to delivering a fast
agressive performance for a change."

When asked how Warrel thinks MDB's fans will receive him as replacement
singer, he responds: "I will have to convince them that I'm up to it. My
Dying Bride's music is intense and emotional, my singing and performance
will have to reflect that. I've learned the lyrics by heart, and I'm
practising the performance, you know, being in agony, falling down,
gripping my heart and stuff. It's going be a great challenge!"

Warrel will replace Aaron for the first time at My Dying Bride's
performance at the Wave Gothic festival, in Leipzig, Germany, on May 29.
Aaron's first performance as Nevermore frontman will be at Wacken Open
Air, also in Germany.
