Signal chain:
Caparison Horus (D-Sonic/Air Norton S) -> M-Audio 2496 -> TSS -> LePoulin SoloC -> 'little' delay -> some Recabinet demo 1960 impulse and SSD EX for the drums.

The guitar tone is still a bit too 'hairy' in parts JMO... couldn't tweak it out 100%. Kinda going for the 'Volvo tone'

Really not doing justice for the original (Ten Words by Joe Satriani) since I'm not much of a lead player... took a few shortcuts as well.

Everything but the lead guitar seems pretty buried. But I think that lead tone is great. The mix needs EQ.

Also, a quick tip for the drums... you're missing a hit on the hihat whenever snare is being played; it's not that important but it's how most drummers would play that, and frankly, it would sound better. Also, some randomization on the velocities of the hits wouldn't hurt either, to make it sound more realistic. EX has what it takes to sound realistic enough, it just needs some more work. You might not care about any of this, but as a drummer, these are some things that came to my mind.

Thanks for listen!

There's a hit with the snare, a open hi hat. It doesn't 'ring out' too loud though. The rhythm guitars are just the background pretty much like on the original with the bass and synth which should be pretty much in the back JMO. And I've owned the SSD EX for like 20mins when I did the mix so I'm not fully familiar with it yet :)
