Hey guys!

This is my first post here on Ultimate Metal, and I've been wondering what you guys might think of my mixes.

So, I've recorded a short snippet of what is going to be the next song for my 'pop goes metal' coverband Pene Corrida

Be critical please!

Cheers:kickass:

sounds good i really how like the riffy guitars @ 0:30 sound!

there's this one bass frequency that's costant through the whole track.
i gues it's the kickdrum maybe the bass too, it clouds everything up and needs to be cut.

cheers

Hey guys,

Looked at the low mids around 150-200HZ in the kick, and found a pretty large peak which I've cut (not to drastic -3dB, 'cause I didn't want to lose any weight of the kick) Hope I addressed it correctly!

Also I found the guitars a tad to fizzy, which was easy solvable 'cause I used VST's on this one.

Bass was fixed here and there.

So here's the result

Cheers :kickass:

i really like the KSE style intro btw! :)

how did you make the open chord played guitars sound so smooth and glassy at the same time!?

All I did was play very soft (caressing the string) and use the back single coil split on my Ibanez 7 string. The VST signalchain was RG7620 - LePou Lextac on the blue channel, bright switch off - Brohymn Mesa V30 #3

Rhythm parts were also played through de LePou Lextac and Brohymn Mesa V30 with a Tube Screamer (Logic pedalboard one, with all settings on 0 except for the level on 10)

After that I did a LP at 85 hz and I used the logic standard Multipressor to compress the low mids from jumping up and down in the riffing and breakdown part.

Thanks for the quick response :) I'm glad you like it 'till now!

PS: I love your tone on the Axe FX! I'ld love to get one myself, but the thing is that they are VERY rare here in Holland!
