Yo guys,
So I just got the master back for one of the bands I just finished recording.
IMO I feel as if the guitars could have been a little more aggressive. The master did tame some of harsh high frequency stuff goin on in the guitars, but I feel they may be a little too "nice" now.
What's everyone else think overall?
ps. This is sort of "breakdown" metal. :loco:

Thanks!

yeah....the gtrs are kinda muffled? everything sounds mid-scooped, but the gtrs to me. Everything sounds like it was tracked really well, just some funky eq goin on. The vox sound great.

That's the impression that I got too. The mix originally had a lot of mids happening which is why the dude who mastered it scooped it so much. The guitars were a lot more up front.
I also experimented with stereo imaging in the guitars and overheads in this mix. It definitely helped as everything was sounding a little too narrow at first. Anyone else use any imaging plugins in their mixes?
