"Fields of Snow" is my new album that was just recently released. All music, recording, mixing, and artwork/photography was done by yours truly. I am an amateur who lurks these boards quite a bit. My monitoring/recording setup is quite modest compared to many here, and I apologize for my lacking mixing and production skills!
If I was forced to put it in a genre, I would describe it as Atmospheric metal with some symphonic elements. In general my influences are Agalloch, Alcest, and While Heaven Wept, though for the most part I try to keep to my own style. I've had friends describe it as "easy-listening" metal, which I would kind of agree with.
Around the time I was writing this album I was reading quite a bit about the suicides of David Foster Wallace and Hart Crane, so while the first track is more upbeat, the rest is a bit more somber overall. I sincerely hope this doesn't come off as pretentious, but as much as this sort of thing can have a story, this album is about a man committing suicide by falling backwards off a bridge.
This is about 9 months of work for me, and there's no minimum on the download price so please check it out!
Replies here or Facebook Likes on the bandcamp page (to share it with friends) are very much appreciated as well.
