So I've got really rough tone on a session that's near mixing, and I really need to tweak it to get it sounding good... I've tried all the suggestions with EQing and multiband comps... to me it's just sounding like it's been heavily eq-ed rather than sounding brutal or thick...

It was a Mesa Dual rec for one track, and a Marshall Superlead for the other, the performance isn't the tightest, but even beyond simply that, I can't seem to get the mix of it right... it's either muddy or just awkwardly bright.

Micing it was two 57's phase corrolated, and summed to one track...

Is it possible that my EQ plugin just sucks and can't cut it? I'd LOVE it if someone could give it a quick shot, and see how it comes out, and let me know what made it work...

they're uploading right now 5:12pm PST... should be done in a few min...

eq it with the drums and everything else. something that sounds like shit soloed may sound the best ever in a mix. ill see what i can do with this even though ive only been taking classes for a month now.

I had been working on it with the drums in context... just wasn't working... would you like the 'rest of the music' file also?

I cant figure out how to make a link from the ftp. unless you want me to fuckin mix the whole thing lol you can send me the drums and everything else.

Not to offend, but I hear some 60 cycle hum...or some thing like it in the low mids or something...it's like if a tweeter is breaking up, but it's not that.

This probably wasn't your fault, but it's wierd sounding.

too much gain and too small gauged strings. you're tuned pretty low, what strings are you using?

Holy shit...setup the guitar better...like Keessi said way to small of gauge. They soud like floppy farts....
