I can illustrate my thoughts more clearly in two charts, one for pro's and one for con's.

Simply put, the album is good, but I only really listen to it because that bass tone makes me pop a woody a foot long.

But who really cares, I can hardly tell what the fuck he's saying most of the time anyway.

\m/

Guitarist in the band I'm recording at the moment showed this band to me and was telling me how massive this sounds.

Thanks for setting the bar high CJ you cunt

Hahahaha this post totally made my day :D <3

I'm the guitarist of the band and I did all the recording / programming / arangement etc on this record :) CJ is responsible for that incredible mix hehe

I hope we will be able to work together again in the future ! He and Phil are awesome guys, incredibly cool and dedicated <3

BTW, US people, our first tour in your country just got announced !!!
W/ Born of Osiris, Veil Of Maya , Struc/tures and carnifex ! siiiiiiiicccckkkkkkkk

Much love <3

PS if you read the lyrics, you'll realise that - although they definately are influenced by our faith - we're not a preaching band or anything like that at all, the lyrics talk about personal stories taken from our own lives, some of them beeing pretty rough, and we just want to share a message of hope and "never giving up" to people who listen to us, whatever religion they are :)

one of the most original things ive seen in my life, hahahahahaha I <3 you Julian, for RIZZZLE DUDE!!!!

thanks for the compliments on the ABIOTIC bass tone, as well! That one was a bitch due to 1) all finger player 2) Warwick bass (never my FAVEEE)

seems i'm getting a talent and coaxing decent bass tones. now just on to everything else............ hahahaha

Some remarkable work there Lucas, will definitely be trying to make it out to a US date!

haha yeah maybe...I think for me it depends more on the context (Untruth bass sounds awesome for me to example)...or I don't like that kind of distortion ;)
Or maybe I'm more up for slight grind rather then distorted to fuck (which I dont think cause I've done that and I liked it)
On BTM the bass is ok most of the time, but don't like it when it sticks out too much. On IMW it's more prominent...like one constant frequency that croaks through the mix, making the bass sound kinda same-ish most of the time...hard to discribe.
Both are high quality releases of course, despite of me bitching about the bass ;)

hahaha, courses for horses, man! =D Everything is so heavily automated on this record so I can see how you wouldn't like it in certain parts, OR if this particular choice of bass grind bugs ya... I know it's not for everyone but it made the record 100000x heavier and glued the GTR sound I got perfectly to everything else.

=D

Yeah I agree CJ, it does make the thing way heavier, and it also glues well with the guitars!
Also: it doesn't effect my listening enjoyment in any way ;)

Well that's one deep bass you've got there. My top #1 bass sound at the moment. And my last top #1 belonged to korn.

The only thing that would make this production even better to my ears would be changing the kick sample. Too clicky for my taste. I like really splashy kicks. But then again that kick fits the mix so well.
