I bought a new pair of leather boots since my Docs are finally nearly dead after 12 years of loyal service. I had to search for something made in the US (because I am ethnocentric) and finally settled on Chippewa. I would have rather purchased Red Wings but my size was out of stock, alas!
I also put a hefty deposit on a new custom 5-string bass. And I of course feel guilty about spending money on gear because that's just how it always is. I should have put that money into my retirement fund. But I'll probably be dead before then anyway, so instead in 16 months I'll have my third bass by my favoUrite luthier Cliff Bordwell. Unless I'm dead before then of course.
Finally, those 4 CDs from Tranquillian, one of which I have wanted to purchase for years, the other 3 I know next to nothing about. Well, I looked up some vaguely familiar band names on Metal Archives, and picked out some highly rated albums without reading the actual reviews. That's my current generation version of "blind buying" really.
