The place I'm studying to be an AE and LE is going down... They've grown a debt of 43 million euros. It's a huge establishment that holds about 12 000 students in different fields, and now they're busting their asses thinking where they could relocate all of them.

They did state though, that all current students will be able to finish their studies... I've known about this for a while, but they made it official today...

We'll see what happens...

Anyone else ever been fucked in the ass by bankruptcy? I mean, this isn't probably going to ruin my studies for good, but it definitely changes a lot...

Anyone in a public university in California has been feeling it the last couple of years... lowered acceptance rates, less classes offered, more crowded classrooms, super super super shitty registration processes, difficulty getting classes, ending up with shitty schedules, etc.

It was a Music publishing company and I loved the work and my work-mates.

I feel with you, it's fucking shit to lose smthg like that.

But 12000 students in Finnland?^^
Do they come from the whole country?

12000 students is goddamn fucking huge; e.g. our school accepts 5 music technology students yearly, so there's a total of 15 music technologists there (it lasts 3 years).

and yeah, there were indeed that many students, actually 13 000 instead of 12 000 it's pretty large for something that's located in Finland...

But the actual building I've been studying in, has only 4 classes in total... The AE/LE education is a fraction of what they do...

I lost my job when the company where I worked went bankrupt. Sucks. Also it takes a long time to get money from the union nowadays. Estimate is 4 months

I had gotten a job as a videographer for a recording studio that was setting up shop 15 minutes away from me. Owner and I had a deal where if I gave enough good he'd let me be apart of the recording sessions apprentice me in AEing. This dude had some tight connections with the OzFest organizers and was gonna pull strings to get OzFest bands to at least rehearse if not record at that studio.

I swing by the studio to drop off video of the first gig (owners band playing at a really crappy bar), only to find the dude's office is completely empty. Meet the second owner who is ROYALLY pissed off and takes the disc and says he'll make sure the owner gets it. Thanks me for my work and shuts the door. Drive down that road the next week and it's a Halal Meat Market.
