I've been around metal heads most of my life. This kind of shit doesn't bother me. People seem to think that I should have lost my fucking sense of humor because I was raped. Joking about it isn't the problem. The problem is when someone crosses the line and rapes someone else.

in fairness there are less reasons to wanna make up this story than e.g. the decapitated thing. i find it hard to believe someone who wants money or attention is gonna accuse these random obscure death metal guys, nor would a troll be likely to do that. could be some kind of personal vendetta of course.

Yeah, people lie for all sorts of reasons. Money probably isn't even in the top 3 reasons why people lie about a traumatic event happening.

I'm with CIG, sucks if it's true but doesn't mean it is and there is very little proof offered either way.
The problem these days is that every forum has multiple threads of people accusing someone else of something bad, some get deleted some don't but to believe every one of them is a big ask of anyone.

It has absolutely nothing to do with whether people believe the story or not and absolutely everything to do with how people word their responses on this forum. Tbf, aside from a few comments in this thread it hasn’t been too bad. But misogyny is rampant on these forums, to an almost disturbing level. Jimmydead or whatever he is called is literally the most misogynistic person I have ever witnessed.

How is it rampant? Women are rarely even talked about on here, outside of like one thread where people talk about relationship and dating shit. I can't even think of the last time something even approaching misogyny was expressed.

It would take a long time to go through all the comments I’ve seen - mostly on the social forum. And I’m not accusing specific people here, except Jimmydead. He is literally indefensible based on most of the comments he had made. Absolutely indefensible even by the brain dead standards that are some of the posters here. It was disappointing to find out that this kind of shit happens in the music scene here and people felt they couldn't speak up about it before about 2016. Before then it was quite easy to assume that mostly only major concerts, sports and lame dance clubs attracted arseholes.
