Mystery Update

I don't know. I'm not sure Glenn would do that knowing that Jasonic would then come ;)

Why? My attendance alone would sell tickets! :D

I would not imagine that Glen would put forth this type of effort in reaching out for support for Candlemass.

Only way I could see that if they were going to have Johan and Messiah on board, in addition to Rob Lowe.

I know recently they did all of Epicus Doomicus Metallicus with Messiah. I'd be really excited to see something like this.

I'm probably wrong on this band because they seem more like headliner material than anything.

My guess is, people are way off base. Savatage? Does anyone really think Glenn is bringing in Savatage based on a handful of $20 donations from the board? And that Creation's End would only have to cut their set for 15 minutes? Same thing, but on a smaller scale, with Lande/Allen. If he could pull that off, they'd headline. I'm thinking this is going to be a nice addition, but not a game changer.

That's a big reason I'm having a hard time coming up with possibilities. Last year the clues basically all pointed to Turisas. Not really a lot to go with here besides it being something Glenn loves enough to fanboy over the idea.

As I said, my Savatage comment was based solely on recently being made aware that 2011 is the 20th Anniversary of STREETS, which is many people's favorite Sava-album (Not mine personally, but not the point).

That being said, you could easily then market the band performing STREETS in its entirety as a special one off gig.

Furthermore, it is the time of year when TSO is idle so it isn't 100% out of the realm of possibility.

I don't know anything about Oliva as a businessman. I am sure Glen has had many conversations about Savatage performing as Savatage at the event, and knows if there are extreme $$$$$ demands on the table.

What? They did????
I can't recall, but was Turisas guessed at by many people?

Especially if the event required retrofitting Center Stage to accommodate a wrestling ring on the floor, and you put on a mask and made an appearance as one of the Ding Dongs.

Happy Birthday, BTW. :-)

Ken

Thanks Ken.
Who were the Ding Dongs?

Not that I am promising anything, but I have had discussions with Diabolik about the feasibility of coming down this year. We'll see!

A few people guessed them. I pretty much threw in a blind sponsorship half an hour after it was posted because I was 99% sure they were the band. Didn't get them in the end but two years of VIP is a nice bonus.

Thanks Ken.

Back on topic, these threads devolve into just random contributions of, "Hey, no one's suggested this one yet!" So here's my contribution: no one's suggested Flotsam and Jetsam yet! Reformed thrash band, whose new CD is getting good reviews.
