Namm

Nope. I am paying him for a custom guitar actually. But I like to plug him because I think his guitars and vintage BC Rich stuff he layed his hands on to are best things since the sliced bread for me.

I'll be there for a little bit, hanging out at the Cornford amp booth, but mostly wandering around drooling at the gear. Follow the trail of drool, and you'll find me :loco: .

James, I'll see you there. To tell you the truth NAMM bugs me. Its like a gigantic Guitar Center. I can take it for about one day. That's all the time I need to see the shit I want to see, and I'm out of there! I grew up in NYC you know and now crowds make me sick! :)

Really though, I'm there this year to enter my drummer in that World's Fastest Drummer competition put on by the Drumometer people. Why dont you stop by when they are having the finals on Sunday at 1pm if youre still there. Should be cool.

yeah, i'll keep my eye out for you. i've been to Winter NAMM several times over the years, and i do enjoy going.. both for the show and the "going out" afterwards.. though i may not enjoy that part as much anymore now that i don't drink at all... of course i never drank much to start with.

primarily i go for business though.. this year representing Caparison Guitars and a few others... it's great for networking and arranging artist pricing for studio gear and what have you. not to mention that many, many friends i have made in the business over the years will be there and it will be good to see some of them... i look forward to a hectic but good time. hey, you gotta be somewhat of a social animal in the studio business and the crowds don't bother me at all. but i was raised in a small city in the South except for 6 years in germany... where i attended the 1984 Frankfurt Music Messe, by the way!.. got Steve Harris, Nicko McBrain, Dave Murray, Steve Morse, and several other's autographs that day... i've not collected autographs for many years, but that day is still a fun memory... i was in high school (Frankfurt American High School) and i skipped school to go after my music teacher slipped me a couple passes she had somehow gotten ahold of. ahh, but i begin to ramble...

see you there

Do you remember any German?

I know that NAMM is best for hooking up deals, James. And youre a master at that. I think I need some more albums under my belt before anyone is going to give me anything! Actually I got EMG there once but then stopped using them! I might be able to get ESP but God, they are kind of shitty axes.

You know what I'm liking? A $300 Ibanez 7 string with a fixed bridge. I put a Evolution p/u in there and am so surprised how good it sounds and how easy it plays. I always thought Ibanez guitars felt a little toyish but the seven's have more weight and girth. Big surprise. I want one of those with a little bit longer scale length. Anyway, sorry to change to subject.
