I love live bootleg video/audio stuff. We've talked recently about the ideas of putting out live footage.....obviously we've talked for ages now about doing a dvd, as most of you know. The logistics behind putting out a big budget fancy DVD are quite complicated, which doesn't mean it won't happen, but it is the reason why it's taken so long. We've held onto any "special" footage from cool gigs and fests with the intention of someday adding it to the official dvd. However, who knows? Maybe we'll pick a really good show or two and put them out as an "official bootleg" or something? If the demand is truly there then we'll do it. I'm skeptical that there's really a large demand for it, however.
That audio from Day of the Equinox isn't too bad. We didn't have any major fuck-ups on there that I can recall LOL If people are trading that recording amongst themselves, it wouldn't bother me too much. Not sure how the record label feels about that though, so I don't really want to say "Yeah go for it, bootleg us!" haha
I know of one ND video that's been floating around in trader circles for years now. It predates my involvement in the band (the video is circa 1998, I think?) It's pretty awful. It's like, the worst show ND ever played. And of course, THAT is the video that everyone has *sigh* It's things like that which make some bands really hate bootlegging. There's no quality control.
Eric, I think that some of those live radio recordings of us are actually floating around out there on the internet. I've seen people who've told me that they have a copy of us doing "She" and a couple other songs from those shows. Y'know what I wish I still had? The stuff that came after we played, when we all piled into the control room with you to deejay the Steel Mill. I kept playing those Popeye bits on my mini-recorder and the hillbilly song from Bugs Bunny, and people called in angry because I played "Africa" by Pyogenesis? Those were fun times.
