I have been working with this band called Her Fearful Symmetry and I really would like some help with this mix! anything and everything appreciated. I think it sounds pretty decent, it would help if they were tighter players, but they are all just in high school still so you cant expect perfection.

Anyways
guitars were TSE X30 + eq
Bass was DI + lots of eq and comp
Drums are real except some sample blending on kick and snare
No vox yet, but we are supposed to be recording them tomorrow

Please Help?!

Hey!
Sometimes it sounds like the guitars are cut too early. like 0:48. maybe edit and cut them again?
the sound is also not too great, dunno if its the playing, but it could be a bit sharper if you know what I mean...maybe to much gain on that one...
cannot say much about the bass right now, only listening with headphones sry

can you pan the overheads more? they even sound only mono? ô.O

the snare's very dry, bit more reverb maybe is a good idea, dunno....

that's my thoughts after listening one time

cheers

Interesting drum beats for that breakdown. :Smug:

And you REALLY need to compress the SHIT out of those cymbals.
Haha.

And possibly pan them?

Also, +1 to adding reverb to the snare.
I'm listening on shitty laptop speakers, so take everything I say with a grain of salt, but for right now, I think your overheads are your biggest issue.
