I have a fireface 800 meaning 4 preamps and one great river. I believe I would need two more preamps to get a good amount of pres for drum recording in my garage:kickass:(kick, snare, 3 toms)

I really would like to get a quality dual preamp to use for the OH mics and also to use for recording guitars, etc.

Can someone recommend quality but not too expensive?

Define "not too expensive." API is always a good choice for drums, the pres on the API Legacy console I've used were probably the best I've heard on a kit. The A2D looks nice but I haven't used it.

If thats way out of your price range the FMR audio RNP gets raved about quite a bit and the one I tested out seemed solid. I passed one up for a Groove Tubes brick a few years back. Shouldn't have done that. The Brick started malfunctioning right after I bought it and I never got around to fixing the f'n thing.

+1 on the FMR RNP. I can't really think of anything else that would touch it for OH's in that price range.
