Hello, i have a children of bodom like melodic death metal band (or whatever you call it im not into metal nomenclature )

Our lyrics are about starcraft and sometimes we would like to put some sound files from the game. (like "it is a good day to die!" from the corsair at the beginning of a song )

I just wondered if it is legally authorized (i doubt it) and if its not, what can be done about it to do it legally...

you should look into fair use laws.

there are a lot of bands who use sound clips from games and movies for their songs

I imagine if you emailed blizzard they would give you permission.

Dont take the risk. While the chances are low, you can never be certain. Make sure the law is on your side, read into fair use

Blizzard might have an issue if you are making money with their work.
