You should probably break that playlist up into some broad genre based balancing. Like, 10 broad genres and then only 100 per to keep it from being to overloaded with songs from a particular genre.

Thats what i was going to do. The pic at the top of this page is a link to a blog that im going to use (if anyone has blogger then follow it) to post the playlist in a series of blog posts. Each post will be based on a different Genre.

Wow i got quite a lot of replies since i was away. Thanks again for all the input. With all the recommendations here ive already got a quarter of the list Its going to be a big job going through them all as i havent heard most of them. Theres no guarantee that every song will make it onto the list as this is going to be a 1000 of the best songs in metal In My Opinion, but afterwards i will compile a playlist using a mix of the best in my opinion and the ones listed here.
