Greetings from south africa! :worship:

Okay first off I'm no professional. I've got a Mackie Onyx 1640i in my bedroom, and that's how I get things done. (Don't worry the track doesn't sound quite like a bedroom recording)

Please, judge this track with all your strength, we'd like it to sound like Jesus' second coming by the time we're done with it, because a music video will be done for it :kickass:

Some background:

My band released an entirely self-recorded self-produced self-mixed debut album in December last year. We're doing a music video for one of this track very soon, and we figured we might as well release a heavily improved version of the track for the video since I've gained a lot of experience since then (Videos are darn expensive to get done properly, wouldn't want it to be wasted!!)

Also, download the CD for free if you like (It's on our website), and feel free to join the Facebook page :)

Not trying to rain on your parade or anything but if you want to sound like Jesus' second coming, get a professional to do it. I heard some of your songs over at last.fm (someone was spamming links in the Keep of Kalessin shoutbox I believe), some interesting material but the mix was pretty wretched.

edit: listened to the new one and it sounds a lot better than the stuff on lastfm, guitars are sounding very boxy and a bit dull though. Generally sounds like there's a lot of mud going on all over in the low mids. For some reason the drums remind me of EzDrummer on some parts.

Thanks very much for your feedback! Haha, yeah we incentivize sharing (Read: Spamming) with free merchandise, so the name may pop up on a few random locations on the net

I'll see what I can do about the lower mids. As for the other elements, I don't feel experienced enough to know how to improve them. There is actually a fairly good chance that we'll get someone who knows exactly what they're doing to improve the final mix, for that reason.

Thanks again :) Anyone else have some criticism?
