need some good songs by...

Nick Drake:
Day Is Done (amazing!)
Pink Moon
Things Behind The Sun
Place To Be

Well, I like whole Pink Moon-album, Bryter Layter is the only one, that I don't like that much...Five Leaves Left is also very very good!

Two of my favorites...
Nick Drake - Things Behind The Sun
Tori Amos - Crucify

I suggest getting Five Leaves Left or Pink Moon by Nick Drake. Do not start with "Bryter Later" because the weird jazz elements don't really mix that well, in my opinion. (If you need proof, listen to the horrible back up singers in "Poor Boy"!)

Nick Drake:Things Behind The Sun, Day is done, Pink moon...there's so many!
Nick Cave: As I sat sadly by her side, We came along this road...same thing here...I just write the ones I've listened to the most lately.
Tori amos: Raining blood:muahaha:

If you want something twisted, wicked and absolutely out of this planet, try Nick Cave's "For Her Eternity"... Old Nick must be possessed on that album... For example "Saint Huck" or "Cabin Fever" are cacophonous but very destructive. From softer side I recommend "Your Funeral... My Trial" album and songs like "The Carny"... Of course newer albums rule also.

I'll recommend Tori Amos' "Blood roses" too. I'm not a fan of her, although she's very talented. As far as I remember there's also another good song on "Boys for Pele" (which is the record "Blood roses" is from), but I can't remember the name of it. I think it's the one before "Blood roses". I just borrowed the cd once. "Cornflake girl" is also an okay song, although it is kind of synthetic. She has also done a version of Gershwin's super fantastic "Summertime" (all-time favorite composition). I don't know if this is on an album, as I have it as mp3, but it has crowd noise, so it's probably from a concert. It's not the best version I've heard of the song, but it's really hard to make a bad version of this fantastic song!
I don't really like Nick Cave, but I have "Where the wild roses grow" on 7" and it's a good song. The other stuff I've heard from him (which is not much) was either mediocre or crappy. Hey, didn't he start out making punk? Talk about selling out!

Wasnt that on the R.A.I.N concert Tori did? Was it ever released?

Yeah, I don't know if they released it on an album, but there is a video version of the concert. The song can be found on MP# easily though.

What a FUCK??? I can't understand how you can talk about "selling out", when the man has made music over 20 years... When it comes to N. Cave, it has always been about extreme or original music...
If we take a garage punk band, which turns to nice and flattering pop-punk boyband to sell more records, that's "selling out"...

Shame on you!
