Need Tips

I'm trying to learn vocal Screaming. It hurts like hell. Here is the link- check out "Lord of Worms and Flies". http://www.myspace.com/aliveatmyfuneral .
I know my voice doesn't sound THAT cool, and could use improvement, but I haven't been doing this long, so I haven't had much advice on HOW to. Anything you can tell me about it would be appreciated.

That's actually quite a nice sound you've got going there, but I'd work on a safer technique ASAP as you're going to fuck your voice permanently if it's hurting and you keep doing it.


The way I learnt to do it was from the advice of Angela Gossow. Try to make a gurgling noise in the back of your throat, and just push it with a shout. It doesn't need to be super-loud, all the distortion comes from the "gurgling" which is totally painless (for me it is anyway).
Screeching really loudly like you're doing is probably going to lead to something popping man, so be careful.

I'm currently attempting to learn the "breeeee" brutal death metal style at the mo, currently failing miserably other than doing it really quietly.
