Where does it store image files of CDs I've copied to my hard drive before burning them? Is there a special folder it creates for these things and how do I find it?

Usually it's your user profile TEMP directory (C:\Documents And Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\) but if you go to File -> Preferences -> Cache you can choose the directory you want to use for your image files there.
It *should* ask you where you want to save stuff if you ask it to save an image file manually anyway, though...
