here's my top 8 list so far (there's only been 8 albums I've liked, but there are several that I still need to hear):
1. Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
2. Actual Time - Time Frame
3. Rain Fell Within - Refuge
4. Archetype - Dawning
5. Protoype - Trinity
6. Into Eternity - Dead or Dreaming
7. Theory in Practice - Colonizing the Sun
8. Soilwork - Natural Born Chaos
Though Winds and Wolverine may get added to that list, too, after I give them a proper listen. So, Soilwork will most likely get pushed off the list since there's a lot of other CDs coming out soon.

I haven't heard the Arcturus one. Antithesis came out last year, and I've never even heard of the other 2 you mention, what are they like?
Chalice has a gothic sound that is a bit influenced by The Third & The Mortal.

downloading the Chalice CD now. I couldn't find a track listing for Dimension, what tracks should I check out?
Here is the site for Dimension where they have 4 songs to listen to. The Mirror of Time and Universal Mind are both longer songs which should give you a good feel for what their music is like.

sounds good so far, I'll try to find some full songs. The Chalice stuff was good, too. Thanks for the recommendations. Someone on the End Records board recommended Comma (they're on mp3.com). It's some good prog from Turkey; I think you'll enjoy it.
