Never Winter Nights 2

I think what's a shame about PC role playing games like NWN etc is that you dont get to fight and block yourself like on that Baldur's gate game that came to PS2 and some other consols. It's just way more gun than clicking on hwhere you want to go and who you want to attack. You people agree?

NWN2 is pretty kickass. Doesn't run great on my system, mostly due to a low budget video card, but it runs alright. Still fairly buggy, but I'm looking forward to when the persistent worlds get up and going well. That's the one advantage it has over Oblivion... multiplayer and PvP.

Well, I have an awesome computer....too bad I fried my RAM
Anyway, I have 2gb of OCZ coming in the mail....I'll finally be abnle to masterbate to my computer screen again :kickass:

Don't worry, if we can handle Tyra's milk squirting abilities, we should be able to handle your eeeehm.. 'milk' squirting abilities.

I guess computer gaming is like any other hobby. I just love to buy parts, build my own system and then tweak the cpu core, overclock cpu and gpu,... fun but expensive if you screw it up.
Btw, computer gaming (and some extend graphical applications, servers) is what keeps the computer industry going and bringing new records to the industry. You sure as hell don't need a dual core, 3gb or ram, 2 sata 300gb HD, watercooling system for your cpu; to download music, watch porn, or use MS Office.
2007 is going to be an expensive year if you are into building your own system.
Now a good video card can cost you almost 1/2 of your pc budget if you don't want to buy a low end card.
Just as example, the shitty PS3 will be obsolete vs pc gaming in less than 6 months, but most people can't just shell out 2K$ for a top of the line gaming system.

Man I go to a tech school. You should see some of the rigs that people have over here. But it doesn't matter how powerful computers are. The sad truth is that console gaming has already taken a huge chunk out of the PC gaming industry. If it weren't for the FPS genre PC gaming would be nothing but a relic of the past.

And I've seen my fair share of overclocking disasters. You can always tell when it happens. Aside from the initial cursing and screaming there is a lingering metallic odor that is evident throughout half the dorm hallway.

Yes ... I agree with you. Overclocking can cost you a bundle, but now with so many mfrs shipping overclocking software,... still they never recommend it.
As for me, I have never owned a console and never intend to.
I remember my first pc in early 80's when my dad was working for Sharp and I got this new pc with cassette and I had to load Basic before even loading the game.
I started messing around with the Basic language, changing the game scripts, rewrote hundreds of code lines, had a huge floppy drive that prob weighted 5 lbs and was external ... the good ol' days.
I have been hooked ever since then.
There are many types of pc gaming that a console can never touch ... fps as you said, adventure (who never loved the old point&click), flight simulations, mmorpg, LAN gaming, + everything else you can't do on a console. I guess it is just a matter of opinion ... games are still being developped on computers and that will never change.

Consoles are starting to catch up with online support. As much as I don't want to give it credit I know it's mostly due to the huge popularity of Halo on the Xbox. Even though I'd still rather play any FPS on the computer.

And it's conforting that two of my favorite genres will probably never be touched by consoles. FlightSim or other joystick games (I'm the shit at MechWarrior) and Real-time Strategy. I'm glad people still play StarCraft.

Whee, my wife got into the LOTRO beta, as well. It's pretty decent, they've done a pretty good job of bringing the world to life. It is laggy, the AI isn't the greatest, but it's more stable as an early closed beta then many games are upon release. I was honestly not looking that forward to it, after how DDO worked out. Of course, lack of true PvP might keep my long term interest down, but, well, hopefully WAR will fill in there. ;)

All right, maybe I'll skip on all of those...
FilePlanet: Age of Conan CES Trailer [High-Res]

It's a big download but, yeah, that looks like fun. Most brutal MMO ever :p

It does look good, I'm wondering how it will pan out with it being placed on the Xbox 360 aswell. Alongside PC gamers, might be a bit awkward with the usual MMO crowd and the Halo kids. But hopefully I'm wrong.

Vanguard and Warhammer Online (W.A.R.) also look very good. Although they're both High Fantasy.

Vanguard is kinda, meh... very EQ 1 ish. Beautiful game, but the PvP is an afterthought and, well, I tinker with the game for a while, but don't really play much.
WAR looks to be a lot of fun, I still play Mythic's old game (Dark Age of Camelot).... Tho I don't game as much as I used to, now it's more something I do when my brain is just overloaded from reading stuff. Midgard owns. ;)

I can agree with that. Starting to game a lot less myself aswell, and read alot more again.
