non-metal (as in not counting all of the chugga-chug/rapcore nu-metal and whiny emo stuff i've taken to listening to that'll make me get flamed to death by you people like the old days, annoyingly overplayed songs by popular rappers on the radio, and typical 90's alt-rock that is NOT Nirvana) i listen to ... Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Ani Difranco, Sarah McLachlan, Mazzy Star (you know how it goes with us angsty chicks), Sinatra (the way to my heart), Jason Mraz, John Legend, the new Bruce Springsteen stuff, James Blunt, KT Tunstall, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Matisyahu ... stuff like that. i guess i'm what you'd call ecclectic.

Silverchair have actually gotten a lot better musically in the years since their mass popularity amongst the teenybopper crowd.

At least that's what I remember from the mp3s that Mikey sent me about a year or two ago of their newer stuff.

Springsteens new stuff is pretty incredible, probably my favourite of his whole catalogue.

one day at my store, someone put on this cd that i thought was just a sampler of mid-western and Irish bluegrass or something and i actually liked it (of course, after having to listen to the soundtrack of High School Music three times in a row, i'd probobly like listening to Toby Keith in its place), then when my manager was bitching about how much she hated "the new Springsteen" when it was playing again, i damn near died.

i like Springsteen now
