This CD may contain the best guitar playing I've ever heard in Metal. The combination of Loomis and Smyth is mind boggling. Williams is a monster, and Jim does a great job as always. Warrell is in rare form. He hasn’t sounded this strong since “Dreaming Neon Black”.

I know there are more than a few folks on this board who don’t see what the big fuss over Nevermore is all about. If you fall into that group, and you have an opportunity to check out this CD, you should do so. However, it may not hit you on the very first spin. I was a tad disappointed in this CD after the first listen or two. However, after the third spin, it’s brilliance began to reveal itself. This CD is a perfect amalgamation of their last four CDs, and in as much, has a very fresh sound. As I said, if you can, give it a few spins.

Zod, I am in complete agreement. Holy crap what an album - and I can FINALLY appreciate it without the promo voiceovers. This may be their best ever - now stop listening to it and throw on the In Memory EP, LOL!!

RE: TGE I found that it was somewhat interesting when I heard the leak but it still wasn't enough to hold my attention at the time. I'll give it a try when I can hear a version without the voiceovers.

The voiceovers on the promo (while an innovative security measure) are unbelievably annoying. If I were to listen to the album in advance for a 'zine there is no way I could give it an honest review, the voiceovers are way too big a distraction. They make you want to eat sand and shit glass.

This Godless Endeavor is incredible, and I agree with Zod that it combines all the best elements of their previous albums. Every track is devastating, and in addition to arguably being their heaviest and proggiest disc ever, it has Warrel's best lyrics since Politics. And I have no objections to them bringing in another guitarist...Steve Smyth may be the best thing to ever happen to this band.
Best tracks? Way too early to decide, but there are at least six that are already firmly placed among their best tracks ever: tracks 1, 3, 4, 6, 9, & 11...
