New Adrenaline Mob video

Ok I've been kind of watching this thread and wow. Did everyone forget how to just enjoy new music? I've listened to the EP and I love it. Thank you for some amazing musicians collaborating together to make some awesome fist pumping, dance around the house, rockin metal. If that's all you take out of this band you will be a happy music junkie. If you can't appreciate it, then I feel sorry for your sad un-fun, boring, listen to the same music over and over life. And I was about to write Russel and Portnoy off, I figured Russell forgot how to actually sing and I thought Portnoy was spreading himself to thin and letting his ego get the best of him. They definitely made me check myself and re-established themselves in my music genius files. Thank you that is all.

Not to be a party-pooper, but enjoying something because it is a "new release" isn't really a standard i like use, or because simply the production is great. it all comes down to the songwriting to me, because plenty of new music sucks and plenty of it is good but that is all in the ear of the beholder as we are learning in this thread. :)

Well Heather, I can only speak for myself... I don't think it's necessarily a case of people being un-fun, boring and listen-to-the-same-over-and-over. I personally didn't care for Adrenaline Mob. I had big expectations for it, and simply didn't like the songs. The Mob Rules cover is fantastic, but I couldn't get into the stuff. Interestingly enough, I do like Russell's new style of singing very much.

Im not saying to enjoy something just because it is a "new release" I personally enjoy this album, thus far, because it has incredible energy and its fun, and also genius musicians whom I previously thought were becoming stagnant redeemed themselves, in my opinion (which this forum is all about, and we all exercise our rights to freely and in a, for the most part, diplomatic way). I rarely post on anything especially things that are subject to 'the ear of the beholder', but I hate when people start bickering over good music and bad music. I love music, period. I listen to everything from ambient, and jazz to metal. Not all jazz and not all metal are my thing. Example; Death vocals...not my thing, but I have friends that have played in bands that use that form of "singing" and I support them and enjoy the talent. All I was saying is that there is something to appreciate in this band whether you think its "good" music or "bad" music. And frankly sometimes I don't want to have to think when I listen to something, I just want it to motivate me with its energy.

I was really apprehensive about picking up this cd after I heard Undaunted, but being the big Russell Allen fan that I am, I threw caution to the wind and bought it this past Saturday (celebrating Record Store Day). I think it's a killer cd....kinda reminds me of a MUCH more aggressive and modern version of Russ' "Atomic Soul" cd. He is such a beast of a singer...the shit he can pull out of his vocal cords is frightening. The scream he does in the first verse of Psychosane is one of the most insane things I've heard him do....how long will he be able to keep his voice intact if he continues to do this kind of stuff? Crazy.
