Pyramaze Announce new lineup and commence recording new album.

Pyramaze are proud to announce that Michael Kammeyer's (guitars) replacement is in fact our longtime producer and very good friend Jacob Hansen (Invocator, Anubis Gate, Beyond Twilight).
"It seemed so natural to us to bring Jacob on board, given that he has always felt like an extra member of the band anyways. He has been with us since the beginning, producing, mixing and mastering "Melancholy Beast" and "Legend of the Bonecarver," and mixing and mastering "Immortal."
It's no secret that Michael was the main songwriter in Pyramaze, as well as the backbone of the band in every conceivable way. However with our new lineup that also consists of original members Morten Gade (Wuthering Heights) and Jonah W. (Structure of Inhumanity, Echoterra), longtime lead guitarist Toke S. and new vocalist Urban breed (Tad Morose), we have split up the songwriting duties, and pledge to put our hearts and souls into this new album and the future of Pyramaze. Michael's shoes are big ones to fill, (literally) and in doing so we feel that we are honoring his legacy to the best of our abilities. Before Michael and Niels (bass) had announced their departures from the band, we had already arranged to have Jacob mix the new album, so the transition has gone smoothly to say the least."
We want to thank our fans for standing by us through all of our hardships, and we promise to deliver the best album we can. We love you all! -Pyramaze

FIIIRRRSSSSTTTTT!!!!

So fucking stoked. This is now officially my most anticipated album ever. I just can't wait to hear what comes of this new Pyramaze. I have no doubt that they will keep the spirt of the band alive.

Wow... this is an interesting turn of events! I must say I am intrigued! No word on who is playing bass though eh? Regardless, I think Jacob would be an awesome fit- nobody knows your band's music better than the guy who engineered on it.

I await further news with bated breath!

HAPPY GODDAMN THANKS-FOOKIN-GIVING GOOD NEWS THIS IS!!!

Of course Jacob's addition and his continued service in the Pyra-world is very promising indeed...but I am as happy to hear that Morten and Toke are still in the fold. Not that they went anywhere..its just we haven't heard anything on them in sometime. I'm thinking that Jacob will be handling the bass guitar parts as well...but who knows? With the talent that lies within this band...all now seemingly having major input in the next CD...Jacob in the mix literally and still at the helm with the production. I think Pyramaze will potentially have a far bigger impact within the metal world than us fans or maybe the band themselves can even imagine.

Forge on PYRAMAZE...we wish you well in the making of the new CD!!!

Thank you all for your positive comments. Obviously with a new lineup and the songwriting duties being split up and so forth, our sound is going to be a little different this time around. Regardless, I can assure you all that we will do our absolute best to make the most kick ass album that we can. -Jonah

This is GREAT news Jonah! I love Jacob's other work with Anubis Gate and Beyond Twilight, and knowing of his previous involvement with Pyramaze's recording process just makes his involvement that much sweeter. This new album has the potential to be the best Pyra-album yet. Can't wait to hear the first snippets of songs I know you'll tease us with.

...and J- did say the sound will be "a little diff this time around"?? But if I hear any techno keyboard stuff...I will go postal!
Honestly..."a little different" sounds ok to me. I would welcome and expect a bit of change given the different amount of input and talent now spread out in Pyramaze.

Haha! No worries man :)

Thanks for the update Jonah! Good to know there is something going on! :)

Can't wait to hear the first samples of what you guys come up with... but knowing that -at least- you (your instrumentals are great!) and Urban (has also written several amazing songs himself) are good songwriters I have no doubt that it will sound great.

In the meantime check out this one:

:kickass:

Mikes work in Pyramaze, the guitar, his writing etc has always shined very bright for me...overall maybe the brightest to this point. That being said, and i'll probably get slammed for being a suck-up to Jonah...but its not my intention. Yes J's- solo pieces (Redcriss) are phenominal and even myself being a guitarist at hand...I find the keys / piano moments to be some of the best. J's solo pieces aside...lets not forget that Jonahs keyboard work has also been a foundation in a sense, that has musically layered what is Pyramaze. I hope this continues and even expands going forward. The guitars of course will hopefully be heavier than ever! ;)

I was at work when Legend started playing and i got to wondering. So i went to your website and saw the good news! My wife and i can't wait for another album!
